Study Purpose
The purpose of the Icodec research study is to investigate the amount of insulin icodec that is absorbed, used, and leaves from the body after a single injection under the skin in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
About the Study
This study will take place in the Outpatient Clinic and Inpatient Unit of the Clinical Trials Unit at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
It is important that your child comes to all the visits for the study doctor to check your child’s health and how the study medicine is working in your child. You and your child may be asked to come for extra visits if your child has any side effects that the study doctor needs to evaluate.
Study Design
- 1 screening visit
- 1 two-night stay
- 3 outpatient clinic visits
- 1 phone call visit
- Medical history
- Height and weight
- Body measurements
- Vital signs (pulse and blood pressure, etc.)
- Physical exam
- Recording of your child’s heart’s electrical activity (EKG)
- Pregnancy test
- Blood collection

Study Qualifications
- Be between the ages of 10-17 years old
- Be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
- Be treated with insulin or additional anti-diabetic drug(s)

Study Duration
Participation in the study will last approximately 8 weeks.
Compensation
Your child may receive up to $2,400 for study participation.
